We are a nation of immigrants and a nation that respects the rule of law. That is why we cannot reward law breakers at the expense of those who have been waiting patiently in the proper legal channels for citizenship in our great country. Indeed, our current border security and immigration policies are badly broken.

First and foremost, we need to establish policies that will protect our borders. Previous efforts to implement real, meaningful changes to our border security and immigration policies have faltered because they have not been made a real priority by the Administration. It is time to go back to the basics and secure our border. Once this happens, we can begin to discuss how to move forward on reforming our broken immigration system.
